Keba! was the first ever VoteMatch tool in Democratic Republic Congo. It offered the 41 million voters in the 2023 presidential elections an opportunity to compare the most important candidates with their own political views on 26 statements related to important issues for the political future of DRC. Keba! was an initiative of Congolese policy research and politics think tank Ebuteli and financed by the German Embassy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Keba! was supported by the VoteMatch Network: ProDemos (StemWijzer) in the Netherlands, Tree company in Belgium and the Federal Agency for Civic Education (Wahl-O-Mat) in Germany. The design for Keba! followed the StemWijzer design, with changes to match the design of Ebuteli. An interesting innovation from Ebuteli was the link to a Whatsapp agent that used the site to provide a VAA through the messaging service.
The Keba! VoteMatch reached over 10.000 users in the run-up to the presidential election through the website and a larger number through the Whatsapp agent.
